Calgary Foothills FC U23 vs Lethbridge Pronghorns

Calgary Foothills took on the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns in their first preseason match of 2017. Foothills FC did field a younger squad comprised of u-18 mixed with a few familiar faces. The weather on opening day of pre-season in Calgary gave us a taste of all 4 seasons within the span of a few hours. Sun, Rain, Hail and Snow!! It was also a fair depiction of what is to be expected of this season. With a number of returning players and planning to build from an amazing run into the PDL National Championship last year, Foothills FC will have a target on their back.  That was evident in today’s match as the Horns came to play and really looked to get a result. But that would not happen today!

This season is sure to entertain as new Canadian side TSS Rovers out of Richmond, BC join an already talent loaded NW Division and look to make an instant impact.  Now is the time more than every to support local soccer. We are on the heals of something great, an announcement is due for a joined bid for the 2026 World Cup. Which will see the USA, Mexico, and CANADA all as host nations!! That can only mean one thing, a domestic league is eminent!  Now more than ever the Canadian Soccer Community needs support.  Remember, support the growth of the sport first, then your Club (or childs Club).

Stay tuned all season long for both Men’s PDL and Women’s UWS highlights.
