Some say it’s time to retire, others think he still has a place!
Bastian Schweinsteiger is not getting any younger, he has failed to appear for Manchester United this season and a move is inevitable!
Rumours started after MLS side Chicago Fire head coach Veljko Paunovic has been in Europe scouting. The two were spotted leaving a restaurant in Manchester this week. According to reports, they had a four-hour lunch and when asked the Chicago Fire front office would not confirm the meeting.
Schweinsteiger has been linked to a move in the January transfer window and a move to the Fire would be great for him. His veteran leadership paired with a World Cup Champion mentality would serve well to a club having a rough few years.
The former Bayern Munich star has been linked with the Fire before, but no source was valid. Now, it is safe to say that Basti is as least willing to hear the club out.
The move would definitely help the Chicago Fire out but a few move significant signings would be needed to pull them out of the basement!
Best of luck Basti, a legend by any right!
